Ways We May Be Able To Assist You:
Our primary focus within the unhoused community are those that are living on the streets of Gaston County. We work to help individuals navigate the local services system and provide needed necessities in the process.
Hygiene Services
We offer Shower and Laundry services during our Walk-In Wednesdays and by appointment.
Clothing Assistance
We offer clothing assistance during our Walk-In Wednesdays (located at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Gastonia) and Serving Days for men and women.
Connection to Healthcare Services
We work to connect clients with healthcare and emergency services including primary care, dental, optometry and mental health service providers.
Connection to Addiction and Sobriety Services
Our role is to meet people where they are, not only physically but in the journey of their life. Addiction is a serious behavioral health condition and doesn't have a "one size fits all" cure. Because of the complexity of addiction, we ascribe to harm-reduction models and techniques for those we serve.
We build partnerships with addiction services providers, recovery centers and sober living facilities. We also work to mediate with and reunify families.
The road to recovery and willingness to stay there takes endurance, pain and patience. We support how we can on their journey.
Connection to Other Community Services
We work diligently to bridge connections and collaborate with other local helping agencies in our county and surrounding areas.
Meal Distribution
We travel around Gaston County on our Serving Days providing a complete, hot meal.
We Don't Currently Have:
Though we strive to meet emergent needs, we can not fulfill all requests. Please check the list below before reaching out to us, in order to set correct expectations.
An Emergency Shelter
Currently, the ONLY emergency shelter serving our Gaston and Lincoln County combined is Salvation Army. Very rarely do we assist with motel or other temporary housing, but we may be able to connect you with resources to navigate the system with.
Transitional Housing
We do not offer transitional housing, BUT we can see if you qualify for those housing providers we navigate with.
Funds to Pay Rent or Deposits
We currently do not offer assistance for rent, evictions, or deposits.
Funds to Assist Loved Ones of Unhoused Neighbors Outside of Gaston County Who Have Passed Away
Referrals for funeral assistance come directly from our local hospital or medical examiners office.
Ways to Give Money Directly to Individuals
Here at Displaced Roses, we are not a cash ministry; which means we don't give any funds directly to an individual. However, depending on the request, we may be able to supply the needed item to an individual.
